The Kalyanam (Traditional Tamil Wedding Ceremony)

The Hindu ceremony begins with the groom’s entrance. This is followed by rituals that unite both families and culminates with the tying of the thali (a gold necklace) which symbolizes that the couple is now married.

A time to retire, rest and recover prior the to the reception. Able bodied guests who linger may be recruited to be a part of the wedding work crew. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. ;)
